 The Headline My blog doesn’t have a very consistent theme except it is presenting somewhat around the things I’m currently studying in the media field or what I’ve come across myself lately.  I follow lots of designers online and one of them who recently caught my eye is a Dominican artist Pedro Josue Carvajal also known as Madcobra. He has a very cartoonish and colorful style which pleases my eye a lot. It’s at the same time very simplistic but also very detailed. There’s usually a lot of action feeling in his illustrations and many times he presents cute and cool looking animal characters.  I love the way he uses little details and colors especially in his latest works. He has done also some animations too. He has done a lot of different kinds of illustrations though there’s usually that quite recognizable touch in them. Gifs as an art form Recently I found out really interesting American artist called Rebecca Mock . She is a freelance illustrator, comic book artist and animator based in Brooklyn, New York. She specialises in cinematic gif illustration as well as enviromental concept art and background painting. She has worked for big companies like NY Times, BBC Radio, Rockstar Games, HBO and many others. She works entirely digitally and her workstyle is influenced by Japanese animations, comics, film in general and some classical painters especially from 20th-century.    The thing I want to focus here is to show and appreciate her very appealing and artistic looking gifs.   TeamLab TeamLab is an art collective which creates various kind of large art installations and exhibitions. The name alone may not ring any bells, but a lot of people have seen their works on social media. And many people I know have seen them even live. The whole concept was originally found by Tokyo-based engineer Toshiyuki Inoko . He formed the group after graduating with his student comrades. They started in 2001 which was the time around the first stages of digitalisation. The earliest members of the art collective wanted to create a laboratory for an expert group which would be used for all kind of experimental creativity. Like we all are very aware of, this global pandemic time has been difficult for many businesses, event producing being one of them. It's good to hear that some artist have figured out alternative ways of engaging with their audiences and supporters. Many artists have created online gigs and events to support their work and to give an alternative way for their fans to engage with their creations.  J-P Ahonen, a very well known local illustrator and comic artist, is one good example of that. He's one of the artists who had lot of events cancelled but creatively managed to start something new for the replacement. The 2nd night photography attempt 18th - 19th of September 2020 This post continues where I left from my previous blog post. Preparing I had some technical issues in the first attempt to take a photo of the Andromeda galaxy. I decided to try again as soon as possible and luckily there was a clear night sky again next Friday . Before that, I went through the whole process again writing down every single step I needed to do since I had no intention to fail this time. It was nice to notice that all the photography steps felt clearer now and I was sure I could not make the same mistake again without noticing it.  My sister volunteered to come along, so late on Friday night we took the car and drove to the exact same spot where I was previously.
